Old Gipson School House Cook Store
Children and Teachers by old Gipson School House. Do you know the year? Do you know any of the people? (The white blop over the womans head was a tear in the surface of the photo.) The Cook Store in Gipson in about 1910. It was on north-east corner of road from Bates and road on north side of Gipson Cemetery hill. James S. Cook is the man in the back-center with bib over-alls on. Boy second from left in front with a hat on is possibly Raymond Cook, oldest son of James Cook.

First lady on right is Bealuh Bethel (?), 4th lady on right is Bertha Lemay. Note the photographers wagon in the background.

Poteau River Bridge Army Draft Card- Union Dues Receipt
The old Poteau River Bridge at Gipson from south approach. For years that was one of the worse bridges around, just a few old boards to drive on, steel as rusty as all get-out and it felt like it was swinging a long with you. At top is a receipt for Union Dues to United Mechanics Union in 1919, below is a U.S. Draft Registration card for World War I in 1918. Both are for James Arthur Hill of Bates.
